Det kendetegnes ved, at man igen og igen genoplever traumatiske h\u00e6ndelser gennem flashbacks n\u00e5r man er v\u00e5gen eller i form af dr\u00f8mme\/mareridt n\u00e5r man sover. Folk med PTSD d\u00f8jer derfor ogs\u00e5 ofte med irritabilitet, s\u00f8vn- og koncentrationsbesv\u00e6r samt sv\u00e6kket hukommelse og hum\u00f8rsvingninger. Forholdet mellem den ramte og deres p\u00e5r\u00f8rende bliver ofte p\u00e5virket.<\/p><p>PTSD kan komme i forskellige grader og det er derfor forskelligt fra person til person hvor ofte, hvor mange samt i hvilken grad symptomerne indtr\u00e6der.<\/p><h2><strong>Hvordan opst\u00e5r PTSD og hvordan behandles det?<\/strong><\/h2><p>Tilstanden opst\u00e5r som regel efter meget voldsomme h\u00e6ndelser hvori man har f\u00f8lt magtesl\u00f8shed, intens angst, st\u00e6rk r\u00e6dsel eller lignende \u2013 enten for sit eget liv eller andres. Lidelsen bliver ofte forbundet med soldater og krig, men kan ogs\u00e5 sagtens opst\u00e5 efter andre traumatiserende oplevelser. Dette kunne f.eks. v\u00e6re ekstreme naturkatastrofer, ulykker, r\u00f8veri, overgreb, voldt\u00e6gt samt andet vold og tortur.<\/p><p>Der er flere forskellige behandlingsformer og det er ikke sikkert, at hvad der virker for \u00e9n vil virker for alle. F\u00f8rst og fremmest er det dog helt essentielt at f\u00e5 skabt trygge rammer omkring behandlingen, og i patientens liv.<\/p><p>Groft sagt kan man sige at behandlingen kommer i to faconer \u2013 psykologisk og medicinsk. Derefter kan man s\u00e5 dykke ned i dem enkeltvis og se n\u00e6rmere p\u00e5 dem.<\/p><p>En af de psykologiske behandlinger kunne fx v\u00e6re eksponeringsterapi, hvor patienten skal genopleve den traumatiske oplevelse \u2013 f\u00f8rst i tankerne og senere i virkeligheden \u2013 under kontrollerede forhold. M\u00e5let med dette er, at patienten gradvist f\u00e5r mindsket angsten og dermed \u00f8ge handlefriheden.<\/p><p>Der findes p\u00e5 nuv\u00e6rende tidspunkt ikke en fuldendt eller komplet helbredende medicin mod PTSD, men der er flere, som har en positiv effekt og kan lindre symptomerne. Antidepressive medikamenter er operationelle, fordi de kan nedtone genoplevelsen (flashbacksene) af h\u00e6ndelsen og hermed afd\u00e6mpe angsten, den psykiske smerte og evt. kropslige gener linket til dem.<\/p><p>I forl\u00e6ngelse af medicinske behandlinger, er benzodiazepiner ligeledes en mulighed. Disse har en dokumenteret effektiv angstd\u00e6mpende effekt. Dog er der stor risiko for at blive tilv\u00e6nnet til dem over l\u00e6ngere tids brug \u2013 betydende at man kan blive afh\u00e6ngig hvilket kan v\u00e6re skadeligt p\u00e5 l\u00e6ngere sigt. Benzodiazepiner burde derfor kun blive anvendt i kortere forl\u00f8b.<\/p><p>PTSD kan p\u00e5virke din livskvalitet og g\u00f8re ting, som er hverdagsting for andre, til en daglig byrde. Det kunne bl.a. v\u00e6re at huske vitaminer eller piller. Kibodan har udviklet pille\u00e6sker, som g\u00f8r det nemt og overskueligt at f\u00e5 styr p\u00e5 sin medicin.
